Major developments
PYRAMIDS
One of the greatest developments the Egyptians made was the pyramids. To build these pyramids you would need a very large group of men to labor and work with the materials. Around 100,000 men were needed. They would work on the pyramid for hours and hours, while their wives would provide food for them during their daily meals. When we traveled back in time to ancient Egypt we witnessed the men working on the great pyramid of Giza for pharaoh Khufu. As we interviewed the workers they said that the pharaoh provided clothing, tools and food for the workers. Also they explained that they would cut large blocks of stone( around 2.3 million pieces). And when they finished the interior layer they would put a limestone layer over the whole pyramid, and they had used around 5.5 million tons of limestone, 8,000 tons of granite, 500,000 tons of mortar to build the pyramid. The outer layer of limestone on the pyramid was called casing stone which was highly polished and cut approximately a faced slope, to have the smooth with surface the Great pyramid of Giza once had. We had to leave before we could find out how these blocks were moved into place. Many architectures argued about the Egyptians methods, some say that they had used sleds to the dragged the stones into place, lifted and lowered into place or they had carefully rolled the stones. The only thing that we know for sure is that their method required high skill and massive amounts of labor to execute this task.
